DIFFICULTY = Intermediate
Yarn = COTTON LUX by LAINES DU NORD, col 4 Single size: 250 grams.
Circular needles = size 3.5 mm points and 100 cm cable.
Other = darning needle, stitch marker, scissors, tape measure.
10 x 10 cm = 19 stitches and 25 rows in stockinette stitch using size 3.5 mm points.
It is very important to check your gauge and measure the tension correctly to achieve the same results and measurements as the pattern.
If the gauge is different, try adjusting the needle size up or down by half a size until you get the correct measurement.

Cast-on 3 sts.
R 1 (RS): purl.
R 2 (WS): k1, 1 right incr, place 1 SM, sl 1p A, place 1 SM, 1 left incr, k1.
R 3: p2, move the SM, p1, move the SM, p2.
From next row and across all even rows, for I-cord bands shaping, at beginning and end of the row, slip 2 stitches purl wise, with yarn in back.
R 4: sl 2p B, knit until the SM, 1 right incr, move the SM, sl 1p A, move the SM, 1 left incr, work until 2 sts from the end, sl 2p B.
R 5: purl until the SM, move the SM, p1, move the SM, purl until the end of the r.
R 6: sl 2p B, knit until the SM, 1 right incr, move the SM, sl 1p A, move the SM, 1 left incr, knit until last 4 sts, sl 2p B.

Weave in all ends.
Work the shawl in a single piece seamless. The pattern is created by the space-dyed yarn. The odd rows on WS, the even rows on RS.
